Description/Objectives

The objective of this class is to introduce the participant to the marketing practices of sports & entertainment organizations.  The intent is to review the terminology, systems, techniques, and processes that are used in this specialized application of marketing and to encourage students to consider how traditional marketing strategies may be applied to this substantial and growing industry.

The class is conducted in seminor format.  This means class discussions are highly interactive and class participation is anticipated and expected.  Time will be specifically devoted to the discussion of the topics listed on the schedule, however, they will not necessarily be limited to these issues.  Guest speakers will also be invited to add diversity to class discussions.
